Dr. Nazim S. Gruda is a senior researcher in the life sciences with a long-standing focus on horticulture, plant sciences, and applied agricultural research, particularly in sustainable and climate-smart agriculture. By 2026, his publication record includes more than 450 scientific and technical publications, including over 220 peer-reviewed journal articles and 40 books and book chapters, indexed in major databases such as Web of Science, Scopus, and Google Scholar (ORCID: 0000-0002-2663-1594). His extensive publication record has given him a comprehensive and practical understanding of the scholarly publishing process. His professional experience spans academia, government research institutions, and international organizations, providing him with a broad perspective on the interface between science, policy, and practice. He has contributed as an expert and evaluator to European Union research activities and has been involved in projects and publishing activities with the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations. In Germany, he has held senior roles within agricultural and food institutions, gaining insight into research funding, evaluation standards, and innovation processes. Dr Gruda currently serves as Editor-in-Chief of the International Journal of Vegetable Science (Taylor & Francis) and the Encyclopedia of Vegetable Sciences (Elsevier), and as an advisory board member of a journal published by CABI. Through these roles as author, reviewer, handling editor, and editor-in-chief, he has gained extensive experience in editorial decision-making, peer review, publication ethics, quality assurance, and the standards required for scholarly journals and scientific reference works.
