René Guénon, born in 1886, was a French mathematician, philosopher, and metaphysician, known for his philosophical and spiritual writings and his efforts to preserve and disseminate the Spiritual Tradition. He was also a great scholar of Eastern doctrines and religions, and was highly critical of Western civilization.
