José Ramón Gómez Cabezas (Ciudad Real, 1971) is a psychologist and professor at the University of Castilla-La Mancha (UCLM). He combines his professional work with literary activity, collaborating with most of Spain's noir and crime fiction festivals as a speaker or jury member. He is the president of the Association of Friends of Crime Fiction (Novelpol), which awards a prize every year during the Gijón Black Week festival. He has published five crime novels: Requiem for the Ballerina of a Music Box (Joaquín Córdoba Series, Book 1), Wanted: An Arrest Warrant for a Guardian Angel (Joaquín Córdoba Series, Book 2), The Marshall Attack (finalist for several literary awards), Eyes That Do Not See (Joaquín Córdoba Series, Book 3), and Metastasis, his most recent print publication. The Ballad of the Hanged (Joaquín Córdoba Series, Book 4) will be published shortly. He has also written several articles, short stories, and academic papers presented at various Spanish universities on literature and psychology in the noir genre.
