Nik is stuck in a marriage of convenience with a woman he does really care about. It's comfortable, really, but he's opened Pandora's box, and there is no way to shove the facts back in: he doesn't love his wife Persephone.
When he meets Vasco at a fundraiser, it is his wife who convinces him he should pursue the man he can't stop thinking about. But there's a problem: Persephone needs him to pretend for a while longer if she wants to prevent her father destroying the Arctic.
