Bill Thompson, a free-lance writer and critic, was from 1990 to 2010 he was the full-time film critic and columnist of the Charleston (S.C.) Post and Courier. During his 52 years in journalism, he has also been a book review editor, travel writer, arts editor, music columnist, and sportswriter.
