Jess Perkins is young, in high school and living an ordinary life until the arrival of a handsome new teacher, Mr Thompson. Upon Mr Thompson's arrival life takes a peculiar turn, as this new teacher has a somewhat perturbing past. With his new neighbours and colleagues unaware of his past, can this man find solace in this new neighbourhood and in the new life he is trying to create for himself?
Jess' life, however, isn't without its disturbances either. Like most teenage girls, she is so absorbed in her own life that she has no idea what is heading her way. What ensues is not the stuff of dreams as she might have hoped but more like the stuff of nightmares.
