Liz Jennings grew up in a South London vicarage in the 1970s. She began writing as a student in the 1990s, and her reviews, interviews, features and fiction have appeared in a variety of magazines and publications. Her short stories have won several prizes and her plays have been performed locally in Canterbury, where she lives. Her small group resource, Short Christians: exploring faith through fiction, is published by Lioness, and Liz runs story and discussion sessions in church settings. Liz also designs and facilitates creative groups for people with a diagnosis of dementia, and was editor for Welcome To Our World, available through the Alzheimer's Society. In 2017 she was awarded the Emma Kent Award for Outstanding Individual Contribution for engaging and empowering people with dementia to enjoy expressing themselves creatively. Her stories are characterised by her use of humour, often bitter-sweet. She is currently working on her second novel.
