Not that long ago, the evil of adultery was acknowledged by believers and non-believers alike. Everyone knew the high cost of betraying one's spouse and family. Adulterers would usually lose their marriage, children, job (once the betrayal became public), and virtually everything else they once held dear. And adultery's innocent victims (like children) would have their lives changed in ways they would spend a lifetime trying to understand.
Satan, who is good at what he does, knew that for adultery to in ict the most damage to the individual and the innocents who are almost always destroyed in the process, he had to make the unacceptable acceptable and commonplace. To that end, he had to convince society that those who honor the sanctity of their marriage vows are out of touch and judgmental know-nothings. "Neanderthals" who should never be listened to. America is too "enlightened," and has progressed too far to go "backwards."
So, like the frog in the pot of boiling water, adultery slowly but surely kills the heart of adulterers….it takes time, but that is always the bottom-line. It is estimated that 70% of marriages include at least one adultery. A perfect tribute to sel sh America. We want what we want when we want it, and we don't care who we hurt in the process.
