Benda Prize from the Association of Asian Studies. Helen F. Siu is Professor of Anthropology at Yale University and the author of Tracing China: A Forty-Year Ethnographic Journey. She established the Hong Kong Institute for the Humanities and Social Sciences at the University of Hong Kong to promote interregional research and was its honorary director for ten years. Peter C.
