ROBERT HOGAN is Professor Emeritus of English Literature at the University of Delaware. For 22 years he edited The Journal of Irish Literature, and his books include The Experiments of Sean O'Casey (1960), After the Irish Renaissance (1967), and the six-volume history called The Modern Irish Drama (1975-92). His plays have been produced in Los Angeles, New York, and Dublin, and he has recently published a novel, Murder at the Abbey Theatre (1993).
